Sticky Orange Toffee Dates Pudding By Sruti Nakul

  • 1/2 cup Dates , pitted and roughly chopped
  • 175ml Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 100gms Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 WholeOrange Rind
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 95 gms All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 115gms Butter (Unsalted)
  • For Orange Toffee Sauce
  • 200gms Brown Sugar )
  • 55gms Butter (Salted)
  • 220ml Fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Half an orange juice
  • Garnish
  • Candied Orange
  • Chopped Dates


Cook the dates in milk and add cinnamon powder 

Orange rind, salt and baking soda to it. 

Baking soda will break down and cook the dates. 

Keep this mixture aside and let it cook for a bit. 

In a bowl, cream the brown sugar and butter. 

To this add the prepared dates mixture and Flour. 

Mix this batter well but be sure to not over mix it. 

Add this to the Freshwrapp container and bake it directly in the oven at 170• for 15-20 minutes.

While this is baking, prepare the toffee sauce.

Add all the ingredients together in a pan and cook it in medium flame till the sugar and butter all mix and melt well. 

For the Candied orange, take the Freshwrapp Aluminium Foil and add thinly sliced orange, sprinkle it with little brown sugar, wrap it fully and bake it for 10-15 minutes in the oven.
